Bolga baskets are made in Bolgatanga, a small town in the northern region of Ghana. The baskets are purely hand woven, and they are made from straw called "Elephant Grass". The colors of the baskets are taken mostly from plant extracts that don't stain or run. These market baskets are reinforced with leather.
